NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AT ASTANABUILD 2022
From May 25 to May 27, the capital of Kazakhstan will host the AstanaBuild, the 22nd Kazakhstan International Construction and Interior Exhibition, which will be held in a new location for the first time. The exposition will be located in the EXPO IEC - a modern specialized exhibition platform in Kazakhstan.
AstanaBuild exhibition serves as an indicator of the construction industry and identifies new opportunities for further growth of the industry. According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in January-December 2021, 2,436.1 billion tenge were allocated for housing construction, which is 19.1% more than in 2020. In 2021, 17,075.8 thousand sq.m. of total area of residential buildings were put into operation. Average actual construction costs for 1 square meter of total area of housing in January-December 2021 grew by 1.6%, including those built by the population - by 8.7%. Only Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions over the past 2021 showed an increase in construction volume compared to 2020 equal to 111.4% and 114.7%, respectively. (https://stat.gov.kz/). The construction industry is once again showing stable growth and positive development dynamics, and relevant forecasts are being made for the near future of the industry. According to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the period from 2021 to 2025, it is planned to implement 165 investment projects in the construction industry for a total of 1,066 billion tenge with the creation of about 16.3 thousand new jobs.
According to Kairbek Uskenbayev, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, the main tasks in the current situation remain: digitalization of the construction industry, improving the pricing system and strengthening control in construction, as well as developing the production of building materials.
To determine the main vectors of development, demonstration of the latest materials, services and equipment, representatives of government agencies, experts from specialized associations and industry unions, the largest construction companies, professionals from domestic and foreign construction companies will meet at the exhibition platform, which will serve as an incentive to continue the growth trend of the construction industry in Kazakhstan .
The AstanaBuild exhibition is represented by the following sections:
- Building materials and equipment;
- Facade and roofing materials;
- Finishing materials and interior;
- Heating, ventilation and water supply.

Traditionally, visitors to the AstanaBuild 2022 exhibition will have an extensive business program that will be useful to the entire construction business community.
In parallel, the 10th Anniversary Kazakhstan International Occupational Safety and Health Conference and Exhibition - KIOSH 2022 and the 9th Kazakhstan International Energy, Electrical Equipment and Machine Building Exhibition - PowerExpo Astana 2022 will be held at the same platform.
